It was an honour to be part of this historic project.  For the first time ever, "Querelle de Brest", a novel by Jean Genet’s published in Russia! Regarded by many critics as Jean's highest achievement, certainly one of the landmarks of postwar French literature.  The story of a dangerous man seduced by peril, Querelle deals in a startling way with the Dostoyevskian theme of murder as an act of total liberation. Made into a film, "Querelle" with Brad Davis in 1982 directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. With all the overt hatred for the LGBT community in Russia, I couldn't be more proud to have been selected for the cover and support this effort.
